Fancy us meeting here again. I am delighted to know that you are reading this. That means you made it to the new year. Congratulations and I say a hearty happy new year to you.
In the same vein, I hope you came into this year prepared? How long is your to-do list? What is on your list of goals and targets for the year? If you have not listed out your goals for this year, what is stopping you?
You can take a break reading this and quickly pen down your biggest desires and aspirations for the year. Or maybe you should quickly read through this then get to that.
As for me, I already know what I have planned. While making my plans, there is a Bible verse that stuck with me all through;
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” – Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
Before I mention anything else, I should let you know that my plans are usually quite big. Dare I say, audacious.
Considering how many of my plans for last year were exceeded, you can’t fault me for planning even bigger this time around.
As big as my plans are, somewhere in my heart, I also know that God has bigger plans than whatever my human mind can fathom.
My plans, dreams, and desires are bounded by the limit of my knowledge and imagination. Now imagine what an all-knowing, all-powerful, and ever-present God can dream off, scratch that, already knows is possible for me.
A God that has witnessed every second of human history. That knows the limit of the human capacity, that formed me and endowed me with abilities I am not yet aware of.
Add to that the fact that He has a vested interest in my success.
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” – 1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV
Now that you know this, give me a reason why I should dream, plan, or live with fear. Any reason at all.
Whatever the reason, I know it is not beyond God. No matter how logical it is, I don’t need to have a response right now. Moses didn’t have a plan to build a bridge over the Red Sea before he got there. But when man’s innovative thinking gets to its limits, that is just the beginning of the periphery of God’s supernatural powers.
Now, think again. Everything you have planned for this year, what if fear is deducted from the equation? What if there is no limit to your abilities? Most importantly, what if God has set everything in motion to ensure everything you do this year turns out successful?
If you had this assurance, is it the same thing you have on your to-do list for this year that you will do, or will you up the stakes?
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” – Isaiah 41:10 KJV
This is only the third day of the year, it is the perfect time to delete doubt, second-guessing, and fear from this year.
